GlobalCX Privacy Policy

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Privacy Policy applies to www.globalcx.com (“the Site”) and GlobalCX, and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to GlobalCX include the Site. The Site is a corporate news and information site. For the purposes of EU data protection laws, GlobalCX Innovations Inc. is the data controller, and our full contact details are at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.

How We Collect Your Personal Information

We collect personal information primarily when you enter into a contract with us, contact us through the Site, or visit the Site. The data we collect is set out in the next section, and we reasonably consider that the personal information we collect is necessary and adequate for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We also engage third parties to use legitimate business practices and software to collect personal information already in the public domain from websites or social media profiles, such as your name, contact details, and job title, for sales, marketing, and recruitment purposes. We will not use that personal information for marketing purposes unless we have your consent (where we are required to obtain it) or we reasonably intend to enter into a contract with you.

We may also receive personal information about you indirectly through our partners, who will pass your personal information to us in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Why We Collect Your Personal Information

To provide you with the products and services we offer, GlobalCX collects the following categories of personal information:

  • First and last name
  • Mailing address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Employer
  • Job title
  • Interest in GlobalCX products and services

You may be asked to send us an email or otherwise provide certain personal information when you choose to use certain products or services we offer. We will use your information for purposes including, but not limited to, communicating with you about products and services you have requested from us.

Use of Your Personal Information

GlobalCX collects and uses your personal information to operate the Site and deliver the services you have requested.

GlobalCX may also use your personal information to inform you of other products or services available from GlobalCX and its affiliates (where you give us your permission to do so).

Sharing Information with Third Parties

GlobalCX does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties. However, GlobalCX may share data with trusted partners for marketing and sales communications. Such third parties have restricted access to your personal information, only to the extent necessary to provide these specific services to you or GlobalCX, and are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. All third parties are engaged on standard written terms or individually negotiated written agreements.

GlobalCX may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable law, protect and defend our rights or property, or act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

How the Site Works

The Site is hosted on Vercel, a cloud hosting platform provided by Vercel Inc., whose servers are located in the USA and other countries. When you visit the Site, Vercel automatically receives technical information such as your IP address, browser type, access times, the pages you request, and the referring website, and processes it to deliver the Site. We use this information to operate the Site, maintain its quality, and produce general statistics about its use. Vercel’s privacy policy is located at https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Two pages on the Site, the demo booking page (/book-a-demo) and an older contact page (/contact-us-1), also load code libraries from cdnjs, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., and fonts from Google Fonts, a service provided by Google LLC. When these pages load, these services receive your IP address and browser information so they can deliver the files.

Analytics and Tracking

We use the analytics services described below to understand how visitors use the Site, which content is most useful, and how to improve it. Google Analytics, Hotjar, and HubSpot’s tracking code set cookies and are loaded only if you click Accept in the cookie banner on the Site. If you click Decline, or do not make a choice, they are not loaded, and any analytics cookies previously set on the Site are deleted.

Google Analytics 4 is a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (Google). It uses cookies to help analyze how you use the Site, such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you arrived at the Site. Google receives your IP address when the Google Analytics script loads and uses it to estimate your approximate location; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The information collected about your use of the Site is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the USA and other countries. Google uses this information to compile reports on Site activity for us and to provide other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Hotjar is a service provided by Hotjar Ltd. (Hotjar), part of Contentsquare, that helps us understand how visitors use the Site. Hotjar uses cookies to collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view; how you scroll, click, and move your mouse; and your device type, browser, and screen size. By default, Hotjar does not record the text you type into forms. Hotjar’s legal and privacy information is located at https://www.hotjar.com/legal/.

HubSpot is a platform provided by HubSpot, Inc. (HubSpot) that we use as our customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing system. HubSpot provides the contact forms and the demo booking calendar on the Site, and information you submit through them is stored in HubSpot. The contact forms and demo booking calendar load from HubSpot whenever you open those pages, whether or not you accept cookies, so HubSpot receives your IP address and browser information in order to display them. If you click Accept in the cookie banner, HubSpot’s tracking code also sets cookies that record your visits to the Site and associate them with information you submit through our forms. HubSpot stores this information on servers located primarily in the USA. HubSpot’s privacy policy is located at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. The Site uses the following cookies:

  • Your cookie choice: a cookie named gcx_consent records whether you clicked Accept or Decline, so that we do not ask you again on every page. It is set by GlobalCX and expires after 12 months.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies: set by Google Analytics, Hotjar, and HubSpot’s tracking code, as described under Analytics and Tracking, only if you click Accept.
  • Demo booking calendar: the calendar on our demo booking page is displayed from HubSpot’s website and may set its own cookies, in accordance with HubSpot’s privacy policy.

When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. Accepting and declining are equally easy, and none of these cookies are set unless you click Accept. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the Site’s pages. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site works without them.

The Site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to read the privacy statement of any other site you visit that collects personal information.

Security and Storage of Your Personal Information

GlobalCX uses TLS (HTTPS) encryption to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We endeavor to maintain appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or manipulation of your personal information. We train our staff on the protection of personal information and restrict access to our databases as appropriate. Notwithstanding our efforts, there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the Internet that are beyond our control, and we cannot guarantee the security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and us through the Site.

Personal information in our internal CRM and email systems is stored in secure cloud-based services: HubSpot (our CRM) and Google Workspace® (our email). Google Workspace® is a cloud-hosted workspace solution provided by Google LLC. All data stored in these cloud-based services is regularly and securely backed up.

Children Under Thirteen

GlobalCX does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen. Children under the age of thirteen must ask their parent or guardian for permission to use the Site.

Email Communications

GlobalCX may periodically contact you by email to provide company announcements, alerts, and confirmations.

With your permission, we may contact you (by email or phone, using the details you give us) to provide information about related GlobalCX products and services that may interest you, based on your purchase and inquiry history with GlobalCX, or to conduct surveys about our services. GlobalCX keeps digital records of all legitimate business inquiries for five (5) years.

If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional emails from GlobalCX at any time, you can opt out by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails and submitting the form on the opt-out page.

External Data Storage Sites

We may store your data on servers provided by third-party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

GlobalCX reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on the Site and/or by updating this Privacy Policy, including the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the Site and/or services available through the Site after such changes will constitute (a) your acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy and (b) your agreement to abide by and be bound by it.

Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 to ask us:

  1. not to process your personal information for marketing purposes;
  2. to clarify what data we hold about you, how it was obtained, to whom it has been disclosed, and how long it will be stored;
  3. to amend any inaccurate data we hold about you;
  4. to delete any of your data (where you no longer think we need to hold it, or you think we have obtained or processed it without your consent at any time); and
  5. to process your personal information only in limited circumstances, for limited purposes.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country.

If you are in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you, and the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We can extract your personal information from our databases and provide it to you in a structured, commonly used format (typically a .csv file).

If you wish to exercise any of your rights, please first contact us using the details below. We will need to verify your identity before we provide any personal information to you, and we may ask you to specify the types of personal information your request relates to.

Exercising your rights is free of charge. Where the GDPR applies and a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular because it is repetitive, we may charge a reasonable fee or decline the request.
